Happy Sixth Birthday SpeechWorks!
SpeechWorks turns six years on March 15. Time flies when you’re having fun.
In December 2012, I attended a friend’s birthday party, where I only knew the guest of honor and family. To break the ice, the host introduced me to an occupational therapist. The first question he asked was “So, do you have a private practice?” Not the usual questions therapists typically ask of one another like “Where’d you go to school?” or “Where do you work?” A seed was planted and began to germinate on the ride home from the party.
SpeechWorks began “on the side” and morphed into a full-time business.
SpeechWorks serves clients and schools, educates families, speaks in the community and offers continuing education for early childhood educators.
It has been an amazing six years in practice working with families, learning the business side, and growing personally and professionally.
Jann Fujimoto, MS CCC-SLP, dipped her toe into the life as an entrepreneur by catching fireflies for scientific research and earning a penny for each one as a six-year-old. Today she’s a speech-language pathologist and owner of SpeechWorks. SpeechWorks helps children in Oconomowoc, Dousman, Watertown, Delafield, Hartland, Merton, and Pewaukee become confident communicators.
