Why hello July! We wait all year for your long days, warm nights, and relaxed schedules. Don’t think that summer is a time to relax in your reading. A 2011 RAND Corporation study found that a student can lose up to a month’s worth of reading progress over the summer.
Here are some summer-themed books to read in a tent, on the beach, under a tree, by the pool, or in the couch:
The Night Before the Fourth of July by Natasha Wing
Splat the Cat: I Scream for Ice Cream by Rob Scotton
The Stars: A New Way to See Them by H.A. Reyes
The Very Lonely Firefly by Eric Carle
Whatever book you choose, be sure to read, read, and read some more!
