Road construction at the intersection of Silver Lake and Summit
Starting on Tuesday, August 16, 2022
Silver Lake Street/Summit Avenue intersection – Closed.
According to the Oconomowoc of Wisconsin, the City of Oconomowoc’s 2022 Street Improvement Program includes improvements to the Silver Lake Street and Summit Avenue intersection. Curb realignment along the east side of Silver Lake Street, new traffic lights, sidewalk realignment, subterranean relocation of overhead utilities, and public water main replacement are all part of the planned construction. This will be done by blocking off the intersection to through traffic while putting in place one or more detour routes.
Car Detour Routes
George Street is an accessible way for some vehicles to route to Jefferson Avenue or Westover Park as a Landmark to Dr. Martin Luther Church the SpeechWorks office is located at 347 South Cross Street, as indicated by the pin on the map.
Truck Detour Routes
All trucks from Summit Avenue must go to the West Plank Road U-turn to East Wisconsin Avenue Route.
During construction, access to emergency personnel, private residences, and commercial establishments will be provided. With water main construction coming first, utility relocation, traffic signals, curb and sidewalk repair, and pavement resurfacing, the project should be finished in 40 days.
Due to a lack of fire hydrants, the street program has been delayed this year. Now that the fire hydrants have been delivered, work can begin.
The City of Oconomowoc has started informing all neighboring property owners about this planned work. Additionally, the contractor and the City are collaborating to create pre-notification signage alerting the public to the impending closures and delays.
