Jann Fujimoto is a certified speech-language pathologist and the owner of SpeechWorks LLC in Oconomowoc, WI. She helps children become competent and confident communicators.
With 17 years of experience, Jann has worked in a birth-to-three programs, pre-schools, schools, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and outpatient clinics.
She received her M.S. in Communication Disorders from the University of Texas at Dallas – Richardson. She earned her B.A. from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana in Spanish with a minor in linguistics. During a comparative literature class, it was none other than Professor Henry Higgins from George Bernard Shaw’s “Pygmalion” who made Jann realize that her passion for language and linguistics could result in a profession.
Jann holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), a Wisconsin speech-language pathology license, Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction #1820 license, and is registered in Alberta, Canada. She received the ASHA Award for Continuing Education in 2010, 2013 & 2016 to recognize her commitment to furthering her professional education.
In 2011, Jann was selected to participate in the ASHA Leadership Development Program Health Care, a year-long program to develop leadership skills and encourage service back to the profession. Jann mentors graduate and undergraduate students with ASHA’s Students to Empowered Professional program.
